NIA-X, DAR-CARP IC TURN-OVER IRRIGATION PROJECT TO CATER 300-HECTARE OF FARMLAND IN KILI-OG, LIBONA, BUKIDNON

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, February 7, 2025 - The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) and the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) administer a Turnover Ceremony of the Kili-og Communal Irrigation Project (CIP), in Libona, Bukidnon.

Through DAR Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program Irrigation Component (CARP-IC) CY2023 funds, the Php30 million-worth project [Phase 1] was turned over to the Kili-og Irrigators Association, Inc..

NIA Region 10 Bukidnon Irrigation Management Office (BIMO) Division Manager Engr. Armando E. Arizala noted that the total cost of the entire project is around Php237 million [Diversion dam and appurtenant structures], which can potentially serve over 300 hectares of farm land.

He then urged the farmers to carefully manage the project to benefit other farmers adjacent to the barangay, even the succeeding generations.

Moreover, Wilhelm S. Tiangco, the acting project manager of NIA CARP-IC PMO emphasized that with the help of DAR and the local government of Libona the Kili-og CIP phase 1 was smoothly implemented. He further assured that he will continue to seek funds to thoroughly complete the project and benefit more farmers.

Joining the formal turnover were Libona Vice Mayor Leonardo Genesis Calingasan; President of Kili-og IA Salvio L. Añabieza, and other personnel of NIA-X, DAR and the local government of the said town.
