Bukidnon Irrigation Management Office
Before the 70’s, Bukidnon, a highland paradise of Mindanao was rich in natural resources endowed with a vast agricultural land area consisting of 2 Cities and 20 Municipalities. The establishment of irrigation facilities in Bukidnon by the National Irrigation Administration in 1973 boosts the economic activities as well as social development of the province contributing to food security of the country.
With the agency’s mandate to delegate the partial management, operation and maintenance to the Irrigators Associations of the National Irrigation Systems, rationalization plan has been implemented thereby integrating the Provincial Irrigation Office with all National Irrigation Systems in Bukidnon-the Pulangui RIS, Manupali RIS, Muleta RIS and Roxas-Kuya RIS with a new name in 2007 as NIA-Bukidnon Irrigation Management Office.
