
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY- As convened by the Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental headed by Governor Henry Sevilla Oaminal Sr., the National Irrigation Administration X (NIA X) alongside other national government agencies commit to carrying out immediate rehabilitation of irrigation facilities.
Reportedly, incessant showers of rain brought by a shear line that lasted for four days damaged millions worth of properties, infrastructures, and agriculture in the province.
For the province, the estimated cost of irrigation structures damaged amounted to P78 million comprising irrigation dams and terminal facilities.
Twenty-three irrigator associations and 4,092 farmers with a service area of 2,123 hectares reportedly were affected province-wide.
The convergence initiative was set to consolidate, finalize and evaluate the solutions laid and brought about by the flooding including concerns and damages to enable the provincial government to address in accordance with urgency and immediate recovery from the disaster.
